The McClendon Center operates as a Medicaid Day Treatment provider through the DC Department of Health, and is also certified as a Day Services program and provider of Group Community Support through the DC Department of Mental Health.  The Day Program offers morning and afternoon programs with four tracks:

•    Clinical Skills Building 
•    Consumer Empowerment
•    Expressive Arts Therapy
•    Substance Abuse Recovery

mc_21The Day Program is staffed by a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, two Registered Dance Therapists, an Art Therapist, a Certified Addictions Counselor, Social Worker, Peer Specialists, and other part-time staff members such as dietitians, or professionals with advanced degrees in education.  The Day Program has identified six learning levels for consumers, grouping them according to their cognitive ability and degree of motivation.  These learning levels, or tracks, include substance abuse recovery groups, as well as early recovery groups for those individuals who are beginning to consider the process of recovery.


The Day Program operates Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
